2024 DCI Season
Spirit of Atlanta

Joining the marimba line and returning to Spirit of Atlanta, Derek and the corps presented their program Creatures

2023 DCI Season
Spirit of Atlanta

When returning for his second season in DCI, Spirit of Atlanta made their return to competition with Up, Down, and All Around

Other activities

Derek participates in several other activites throughout school and the community.

  • Musical Theatre

    Performed in the Spootswood High School Winter 2023 production of Grease, Fall 2023 production of Mean Girls, and Winter 2024 production of Anastasia.

  • SHS Academics

    Maintains a GPA above 4.0 through multiple Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment classes.

  • Rockingham County Indoor Percussion

    Was a founding member of SHS Indoor Percussion in 2021 which has now grown across the school division in 2022 and 2023, and soon returning to competition in 2025.

  • Spotswood High School Soccer

    Played two seasons with the Spotswood High School Junior Varsity Soccer Team.
